Determination of ultra trace Uranium in Lichen by Adsorptive-Cathodic Stripping Voltammetric Technique

چکیده
Cathodic Stripping Voltammetric (DPAdCSV) method was optimized and validated for the determination of uranium (U) in lichen using choranilic acid (CAA) as complexing agent. The complex can be used for a selective and ultra-trace determination of 'U' by adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (AdCSV) using a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) as working electrode. The method was validated by generating data on parameters such as linearity, precision, accuracy, sensitivity, method detection limit (MDL), quantitation limit (LQ) and selectivity. Experiments were also carried out to study the influence of effective parameters such as pH, concentration of CAA, deposition potential, deposition time and sweep rate on the sensitivity and selectivity of method. The validation data demonstrate that DPAdCSV is a viable alternative technique to current methods which enables quantitative analysis of uranium in environmental samples like lichens with MDL and LQ of 0.35 μg L and of 1.0 μg L respectively. The case study carried out at Mumbai suburban, India revealed that, level of uranium in lichen at this area varies from 36.2 to 62.8 μg Kg.

Determination of ultra trace of thiosemicarbazide by adsorptive stripping voltammetric method
In the present work, an adsorptive stripping voltammetric method using a hanging mercurydrop electrode (HMDE) was described in order to determine the ultra trace of thiosemicarbazidein different real samples. The method is based on accumulation of thiosemicarbazide on mercuryelectrode. The potential was scanned to the negative direction and the differential pulse strippingvoltammograms were rec...

In this study, 2-aminobenzoic acid (ABA) has been used as complexing ligand for simultaneousdetermination of metal ions by adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (AdCSV), for the firsttime. Thus, a selective and sensitive procedure was presented for simultaneous determination oflead, cadmium and nickel using ABA and differential pulse-adsorptive cathodic strippingvolt...
متن کاملDetermination of trace amounts of lead by adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry in the presence of xylenol orange
Lead forms the complexes with xylenol orange in the basic solution. An adsorptivedifferential pulse stripping method for the determination of lead is proposed. The procedureinvolves an adsorptive accumulation of lead on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) inthe presence of xylenol orange, followed by reduction of adsorbed lead by voltammetric scanusing differential pulse modulation. The opt...
متن کاملChelate Adsorption for Trace Voltammetric Determination of Xanthosine 59-Monophosphate and Xanthosine 59-Diphosphate
Square-wave cathodic adsorptive stripping voltammetry based on adsorptive accumulation is a very sensitive technique for the trace determination of xanthosine 50-monophosphate (50-XMP) and xanthosine 50-diphosphate (50-XDP). The determination is based on the strong interaction of the adsorption of xanthosine phosphate compounds on a mercury electrode surface, forming Hg(II)-xanthate. The cathod...
متن کاملDifferential pulse and square-wave cathodic stripping voltammetry of xanthine and xanthosine at a mercury electrode.
The surface activity of xanthine (Xan) and xanthosine (Xano) at a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) was studied using out-of-phase ac and cyclic dc voltammetry. The results show that Xan and Xano were strongly adsorbed and chemically interacted with the charged mercury surface, which is the prerequisite step for applying the cathodic adsorptive stripping voltammetric determination of such b...
